Your purchase supports our mission to give independence to and build the self-esteem of Maya women by making them income earners in their households. As well, our mission is to support the traditional hand crafts of the Mayas and offer an income producing alternative to damaging environmental practices. From a product perspective, our goal is to make high end, beautiful, reuseable bags for gift wrapping, travel, and exercise. MayaBags also makes "vegetarian" purses that are embellished with hand-embroidery or back-strap, hand-loomed fabrics. Above all, each of our reuseable bags or purses is produced from beginning to end by Maya women and is filled with their hopes for a better life. Thank you for supporting what we do!
